Jen K.— In-Home Pet Sitter

Professional & Experienced

"I love cats because their behavior is so nuanced. You have to truly observe and understand them to appreciate what they’re communicating and why they respond the way they do. Having worked with wild cats, I’ve learned to respect their individuality, instincts, and boundaries, and there’s something incredibly special about feeling honored when they finally accept you into their world."
"I love dogs because they’re honest, compassionate, intelligent, playful, and deeply loving. Having worked with both wild canids and domestic dogs, I’ve experienced their incredible ability to connect, trust, and love unconditionally. They’re authentic, loyal, and always remind us to live in the moment and find joy in the simplest things."

About Jen K.

I have more than 30 years of experience in animal care, wildlife conservation, and science education. Throughout my career, I’ve cared for a wide range of animals while helping people better understand and appreciate the natural world. As Director of Animal Care for a nature center in Connecticut, I oversaw native mammals, reptiles, and birds of prey while educating visitors about their roles in local ecosystems. At the Bronx Zoo and Los Angeles Zoo, I cared for African and Asian wildlife and shared my passion for conservation with the public. At a wildlife sanctuary in California, I helped care for more than 50 exotic species and developed programs for at-risk and foster youth, using interactions with non-releasable wildlife to build confidence and meaningful connections. My experience also includes horse training, veterinary technician work, animal control, and conservation education. After decades of caring for animals of all kinds, professional pet care was a natural fit. Today, I bring that same knowledge, dedication, and compassionate care to every pet I look after, giving owners peace of mind that their companions are in experienced and caring hands.
