Hi Pup and Kit Parents!
Emily Lopez (27/F) here. For one, I was raised with two dogs (both labs) from birth to the age of 5. At 7 years old, I was allowed to adopt my own dog from a rescue shelter. My Pebbles (pitbul-lab mix) was my everything for 13 years. At 8 years old, my brother adopted Tigger (orange tabby cat) while he was in college. Due to my brother’s schedule, Tigger found his way to me. I raised, trained, cuddled, and loved these two kids together. The three of us were inseparable. While we lost one of the best pups in 2023, Tigger is cuddling on my lap as I write this bio.
Outside of my familial-experience, I have 16+ years of paid dog and cat care. This included walks, overnights, feeding, medication (oral, injections, and topicals) administration, and training reinforcement (reward based walks, skills, extensive hikes). I am not much of a drop-in caretaker, I like to give proper attention and love to my pups and kits. Specifically, I have:
5+ years with a German Shepherd, mostly focusing on training.
3+ years with two Chihuahuas, administering pill medication, as well as eye drops and ointment to our blind-pup, and insulin shots to our diabetic-pup.
6+ years with a border collie-husky mix, including hikes, overnights, and movie nights – he had his preferences!
4+ years with a boxer and golden doodle, including walks, training, and overnights.
18+ years of general dog walking, walking multiple dogs at times
18+ years of general cat feeding, cuddling, and (more than once) cat walking.
I have a profession in Behavioral Intervention; I am all about listening, understanding, and empathizing with my client to truly learn what their individual wants and needs are. I also understand that safety is everything. I prioritize making a safe space where my clients can rely and trust me.
I am huge on communication, I will always be available to discuss my client needs or just if they want to check in – with lots of pictures, if you would like! Whether it be your dog’s/cat’s routines, walking expectations and hopes, behavior concerns, home access, safety, medication/food requirements, their toy/play/or even TV preferences. I always send photos and updates throughout the day as well as at the end when we settle down for the night.
When I care for a dog or cat, they are my first priority. I have a genuine love and admiration for all animals, but my pups and kits hold a special place in my heart.
With my experience, you can trust that I will give your babies the best experience, based on their needs and interests. They deserve it!
