I’ve loved, lived with, and cared for cats and dogs for over 30 years continuously. I currently have one senior cat plus a six-year-old Samoyed, and have owned two dogs in my adult life. I’ve cared for puppies, kittens, seniors, rescues, and cats with complex medical needs including daily insulin shots, subcutaneous fluids, and post-surgery recovery. My current cat, a rescue, came to me with severe anxiety and requires a calm and gentle approach, so patience with shy animals is something I’ve earned the hard way. And, my Samoyed, she is a smart, clownish cloud that demands a lot of attention as is typical of her breed.
I’ve been cat and dog sitting for colleagues, friends, and neighbors for just as long and I’ve also hired many sitters for my own pets over the years. I walk my Samoyed most days, on and off leash, so I know what a big, high-energy dog needs. I’m comfortable with dogs of most sizes and temperaments, and available for walks as well as sitting when clients need them.
I’ve learned that the best sitting comes down to clear communication, anticipating needs, and paying attention to the details. Being a cat (and dog!) lady helps too. I show up on time, send photos, and treat every home like I’d want mine treated.
When I am not hanging out with the furries, I am parenting my two human children, working part-time as a consultant, enjoying the city and surrounding nature and playing mahjong.
