The Sitter Meet & Greet
Some other cat-sitting services simply send a stranger to your home once you’ve left.
But we not only offer a free “Meet & Greet” session, we insist upon it! We find that they are incredibly helpful for all parties involved.
They give both humans the chance to meet each other and allow your cat to inspect (and approve of) the unfamiliar two-footer in a safe and relaxed situation.
Assuming your cat gives the sitter two enthusiastic toe-beans up, you will then have the opportunity to:
- Review your cat’s basic needs
- Discuss your cat’s unique quirks
- Talk about favorite toys, hiding places, and routines
- Perform a medication “dry run,” if necessary
- Develop contingency plans for emergencies
- Coordinate the logistics (keys, alarm codes, etc.)
- Address any questions you have
Our Meet & Greet sessions last about 20 to 30 minutes, and they’re always scheduled at your convenience.
The Comforted Kitty Serves The Entire Pomona Area
Home is where the cat is. It’s where they feel the most safe and comfortable. And contrary to popular opinion, most cats enjoy human companionship rather than being left alone for days at a time. That’s why we offer an elevated pet sitting experience for cat owners across Pomona who want the best for their feline family member when they are home with them as well as when they have to be away. Because everyone deserves to have their cat and home treated with respect and integrity by those entrusted with their care.

Why should I trust The Comforted Kitty to care for my cat?
We believe that your pet sitter should be reliable, professional, and responsive. After all, your cat’s safety is on the line every time you leave them in another person’s hands.
Unfortunately, well-intentioned family, friends, and neighbors often leave cats and owners disappointed. Simply put, they tend to lack the commitment that comes from a contractual obligation. But our cat sitters bring this kind of commitment to every job — along with a love of your feline friends.
We’ve taken great pride in developing our pet sitter policies and procedures, as they allow us to serve as the always-dependable option whenever a client chooses to go on a well-deserved vacation.
For example, we offer a convenient phone app that allows you to receive daily visit updates and pictures of your pet when we visit your home, while also allowing you to communicate directly with your sitter. You can also use the app to request cat sitting services and pay your bill anytime, anywhere.
Secondly, we are passionate about cats — so much so that cats are the only pets we care for! We don’t care for dogs “and sure, cats too.” By exclusively serving cats, it allows us to focus all of our experience on providing the highest quality in-home cat care available.
As a result, countless cat parents report that their cats were more relaxed when they returned home, than they were in the past when a friend, family member, neighbor, or dog sitter cared for their cat. Our hundreds of exceptional five-star reviews on Yelp, Google, and Facebook attest to this!
Finally, all of our cat sitters are background-checked, vetted by a rigorous selective application process, bonded, and insured.
And remember: You will always get to meet your assigned cat sitter beforehand so that you can be sure they are a good fit for you and your feline friend. We focus on developing long-lasting relationships with our clients and providing the kind of personalized care all cats deserve. That’s only possible with a foundation of trust and transparency.
Can you care for cats with special needs?
Yes, we can often care for cats with special needs. Just be sure to let us know about your cat’s care requirements during your initial consultation.
Why should I hire a dedicated cat sitter instead of boarding my pet?
Cats love staying in their own homes. And because they become very attached to their space, it is critical that their typical daily routine remains intact.
Leaving your cat in a boarding facility or cat hotel can be tremendously stressful for your pet, and lead to things like anxiety, decreased appetite, diarrhea, obsessive grooming, and other behavioral problems. Your can will also be exposed to fleas, worms, and other parasites at these facilities.
On the other hand, with an in-home pet sitter, your cat will have the chance to stay in a familiar, comforting, environment. They can play with their favorite toys, sleep in their favorite bed, and soak up the sun in their favorite window spot. They also get to use their own litter box — something that is much more important than you may think!
Will I get to meet my cat sitter beforehand?
Absolutely! In fact, we require an initial (free) consultation. We feel that this is important for your cat’s well-being and helps our sitters provide the great care owners want for their cats.
You can learn much more about our Pomona, CA cat sitters here<.
Will your cat sitters take care of my other pets?
Unfortunately, no. The Comforted Kitty’s trusted cat sitters specialize in providing loving care to kitties and cats; we do not provide care for dogs or other pets. However, our cat sitters will provide light houseplant care.
What happens if there is an emergency with my cat?
Your cat’s safety is our top priority. In the event that your cat appears to be ill, injured, or at risk of experiencing a medical problem, the sitter will first attempt to reach you multiple times to discuss the appropriate course of action before making the subjective decision to take your cat to an emergency veterinary clinic.
Throughout the process your cat sitter will continue to try and reach you to keep you updated on the situation and also receive guidance from you on what treatment you choose to authorize.
Will the pet sitter care for my cat if they tend to be aggressive with strangers?
It is important to notify us if your cat has a history of aggression or if you have any reason to believe that they may bite, snap, or intentionally harm our cat sitter.
Our partner cat sitters are unable to care for such cats as it jeopardizes their safety. We reserve the right to refuse service if a cat shows any form of human-aggression toward our cat sitter at the meet and greet.
Can the cat sitter share care duties with my family, friend, roommate or neighbor?
Unfortunately, due to liability and safety concerns, our pet sitters cannot share pet-care duties with third parties (such as friends, neighbors, or other pet care companies).
What is the onboarding process for a new client in Pomona?
Our onboarding process is super easy, as many other cat parents have already found.
New client setup involves:
- A free consultation during which your sitter can meet you and your cat. The meeting with your Pomona cat sitter may last for up to an hour, but the exact duration will vary depending on the specifics of your cat’s needs and any special requests you have. This gives our sitters the chance to review the entire expected routine while you’re present. This is also a great time to make sure the cat sitter will be a good fit for you and your pet.
- A permanent client profile record in our secure pet sitting software
- 24/7 access to our software app to make reservations, get in touch with your cat sitter, and more.
- Registration and nondescript tagging of your home keys in our software.
- A detailed visit update report sent at the end of each scheduled cat sitting visit via the app, which also includes photos of your kitty.
An ongoing relationship with your furry friend that will include a customized care plan to ensure that the cat sitter performs all of the cat care up to your expectations.
How far in advance should I request your cat sitting services in Pomona?
Two weeks’ notice is standard for our cat sitting services, but we understand that’s not always possible. Minimally, we generally need at least 7 days’ notice so that we have sufficient time to set up the free consultation so our sitter can meet your kitty.
However, we will do our best to fit in shorter notice requests, so never hesitate to reach out to us for your kitty’s pet-care needs. We have a $20 rush processing fee for any requests that start less than 3 days from the date you submit a request.
Also, keep in mind that the initial consultation is still required before the cat sitter can provide any cat sitting services to you. So, you will need to have some scheduling flexibility for last-minute requests.
**If requesting pet sitting services for the Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s holidays, we strongly suggest contacting us at least two — and preferably three — months prior, in order to have the best chance of securing a reservation. Our cat sitters book up so quickly over these holidays!
What is your key policy?
If your Pomona, CA home requires a key or fob to enter, the cat sitter will need at least one copy (two copies are preferable so that we have a backup set for emergencies, lockouts, or in case your keys should stop working or break in the lock). Your sitter will need to receive the key or fob at the time of the initial consultation. If your apartment complex does not allow key or fob duplication, or you are otherwise unable to give us a single set at the initial consultation, a $20 pickup fee will be charged. The cat sitter will need to meet with you before the first scheduled pet sitting appointment, so that they can pick up the keys or fob.
Alternatively, you are welcome to store keys in a secure lockbox that your cat sitter can access (they will return the keys to the lockbox following the last visit). In fact, we recommend this approach when possible. This will allow you to avoid the fees and extra liability noted above. Using a lockbox also makes coordinating future pet sitting requests simple.
For security and confidentiality, your keys are labeled with a random numerical code. Your cat sitter will never put your name, address, or other easily identifiable information on your keys.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit cards or ACH bank transfers via our Time to Pet portal app. Please pay all gratuities to your cat sitter directly.
What is your cancellation policy? What happens if I no longer need someone to cat sit?
Because our partner Pomona cat sitters carefully schedule their time to accommodate the fur babies in their care, we have implemented the following cancellation policies:
Non-Holidays:
If you cancel at least 48 hours in advance, you will not be charged any cancellation fees. Payment can be held on file for future use. This does NOT apply to reservations for the Thanksgiving or Christmas periods.
Any cancellations with fewer than 48 hours notice from the next scheduled pet sitting appointment will be charged the full amount of that one sitting. Any remaining payment will be held for future use.
Winter Holiday Periods:
Thanksgiving Period
Christmas/New Year’s Period
We require a 5 visit minimum order. Fewer home visits can be scheduled if the difference is paid.
A 50% deposit of the invoice total is due within 48 hours of booking our pet-care services. The remaining 50% is due after the meet and greet with your assigned pet sitter has been completed (if the cat sitter is not a good fit for you, we will gladly refund your deposit).
Our new-client free-pet-sitting offer does not apply.
Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the first visit are entitled to 100% credit that can be used towards future home visits.
Fees paid for cancellations less than 6 days in advance are 100% forfeited.
There are no pet-care refunds or credits for early return home from your trip.
* Please remember that cat sitters are sometimes booked months in advance for holiday services and eventually have to turn down other Pomona cat parents, and cat sitters often give up plans with friends and family to care for your cat.
