Payment

Payment for sittings booked must be paid in full before the start of the first schedueld sitting. We welcome accepting the following payment methods: check, cash, Venmo, Chase QuickPay, Square Cash, Google Wallet. Currently we do not accept credit cards.

Frequency of Visits

For the health and safety of your cat and home, we do not accept visits less frequent than every other day.

Keys

Two working copies of a client’s house key should be provided at the time of the initial consultation. If a second set is not possible to duplicate, we will make special arrangements as necessary($10 key pickup fee may apply). Client should also provide necessary building access codes and FOBs at this meeting. Most clients have us keep their keys on file and we prefer this arrangement. If the client does not want (or is unable) to have their keys on file for future sittings with The Comforted Kitty, a $10 pickup and $10 return fee is charged to compensate for the sitter’s time and mileage costs.

Coordination of keys must be made at least 3 days prior to trip departure.

Cats That Require Medication

If your cat requires medication, be sure to notify us in advance so that we can confirm we have a sitter available to administer particular medications (such as ointments, pills, injections, etc.). There is no additional charge but services may be limited based on the temperament of your cat.

Returning Home

Upon your return home, we request that you contact us via email, text, or phone. If we do not hear from you within 24 hours from the last scheduled sitting, we will visit with your cat to ensure they are safe. This will be charged as a normal visit rate ($32, $47 on holidays).

Short Notice Requests Policy

We try very hard to accommodate last minute requests. However, we cannot guarantee such requests as it usually requires rearranging planned schedules. Therefore:

Service requests submitted less than 48 hours prior to first sitting incur a $25 rush fee

Service requests submitted less than 24 hours prior to first sitting incur a $35 rush fee

Emergency Veterinary Care

In the event that your cat requires immediate, emergency medical attention, our sitters will make every effort to notify you before approving veterinary care at your specified emergency vet office. If this office is unavailable, your cat will be taken to the nearest 24 hour emergency vet office. If we cannot reach you, we will try contacting your emergency contacts. We will keep you informed throughout treatment. Cat owner is responsible for payment and reimbursement for all veterinary costs upon their return.

All time spent by the sitter, such as transporting the cat, waiting at the vet office, and picking up medication will be charged at the rate of $32 per 30 minutes.

Pet Supplies:

We request that the cat owner provide the necessary amounts of food, treats, litter bags, medication (if necessary), and other necessary supplies to last through the entire scheduled visits period. If supplies run out and it is necessary for the cat sitter to purchase additional supplies, client will be charged for the reimbursement of the cost of the goods as well as a $30 pickup fee. During holiday periods, the fee is $60, due to the severe time constraints

Cancellation Policies

We have implemented the following cancellation policies in order to serve our clients better. We understand that schedules can change so we have tried to be very flexible with our policies. Our cancellation policies are separated into two different categories: non-holiday periods and holiday periods, as explained below.

Our holiday period policies are thorough but reflect the high demand of our services during that time and therefore the difficulty in adjusting and rearranging our schedule to accommodate late changes or cancellations to booked services. They are also in consideration of our sitters who give up their holidays with their families. Thank you for understanding.

Non-holiday periods cancellation policy:

During non-holiday periods, cancellations must be received no less than 48 hours in advance from the first scheduled visit or you will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

2017 Holiday periods cancellation policy:

*Please note: There are no cash refunds or credits given for early returns during the holiday periods listed below.

Non-Winter Holidays:

MLK Day (Saturday Jan 18 – Monday Jan 20)

Easter (Friday April 14 – Sunday April 16)

Memorial Day (Friday May 26 – Monday May 29)

July 4th (Friday June 30 – Tuesday July 4)

Labor Day (Friday Sept. 1 – Monday Sept. 4)

Columbus Day (Friday Oct 6 – Monday Oct 9)

Veteran’s Day (Friday Nov 10 – Sunday Nov 12)

Non-Winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) periods changes or cancellations:

Cancellations during non-winter holiday periods require at least 7-days notice prior to the first visit or client will be subject to a $100 cancellation fee.

Less than 7-days notice incurs a $100 cancellation fee.

Winter Holidays:

Thanksgiving: Monday Nov 20 – Monday Nov 27

Christmas and New Year’s: Monday Dec 18, 2017 – Wednesday Jan 3, 2018

Winter Holiday Periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s) Payment and Cancellation Policy

A $100 non-refundable deposit (or full amount of booking, whichever is less) must be paid at time of booking for all reservations during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s winter holiday periods listed above, and full payment must be made two weeks prior to first visit of booking, or your booking will be cancelled.

Changes or cancellations with at least 14 days advance notice prior to first visit are 100% refundable as credit for entire schedule that can be used for future sittings. No cash refunds will be given.

Changes or cancellations with less than 14 day but greater than 7 days advance notice prior to first visit will incur a charge equal to 50% of the originally scheduled service. The remaining 50% will be refundable as credit that can be used for future services. No cash refunds will be given.

Changes or cancellations with less than 7 days advance notice prior to first visit are nonrefundable. There are no cash refunds or credits given for early returns.

Additional Consultations

We would be more than happy to schedule additional consultations at the client’s request. Each additional consultation is $25.

Special Circumstances Payment Rate

Veterinary trips for emergency treatment, wait time for emergency home repair, search for cat(s) that escaped confinement, and other special circumstances are charged at a rate of $32 per half-hour sitter is working for the client.
