Hi there! My name is Delaney, and I am a professional pet sitter who recently relocated to Winston Salem with my husband, our two cats, and our bearded dragon. I was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, where I founded a professional pet sitting company called Wild Iris Pet Sitting. From 2021 to 2026, I operated as a full-time solo pet sitter in Alaska, serving more than 150 clients.
Prior to becoming a full-time pet care professional, I earned a bachelors degree in Biology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where much of my coursework was animal and wildlife focused. I have over 10 years of employed pet care experience as a pet sitter, veterinary assistant, and kennel attendant. I specialize in senior and special-needs pet care, and I have experience administering most common feline medications including insulin injections and ear/eye topicals. I am certified in Pet First Aid & CPR as well as a member of Pet Sitters International, where I earned my Professional Pet Sitter certification.
In my profession, I have provided care for all types of critters from dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, pocket pets—you name it! However, I have always had a special interest in feline care. Too often in the industry, cats are treated like the “extra pet”, as if they are all independent, self-sufficient, and don’t require much care. As a cat owner myself and a professional who has spent significant time in client’s homes with their cats, I can confidently say that this simply isn’t true. As a cat care provider, it is my mission to raise the standard for cat care and provide our feline companions with the mentally enriching and loving attention they deserve. All pets in my care are treated with respect and approached with stress-free techniques to help ensure a safe and comfortable stay at home while you are away.
